Introducing Soulful Everyday, a new blog space dedicated to exploring identity in life beyond. Like many women of my generation (late boomers), I married young, started my career, had two children, advanced professionally, cared for an aging parent, retired, and now I find myself here. Quite literally, I hope to actually discover myself here.
It’s strange not to have a title like “mom,” “colleague,” “manager,” or “caregiver.” It’s difficult to focus and find clarity without a label.
I am learning to accept that this stage in my life is more about mastering the peaceful art of shaping experiences rather than accumulating new accomplishments. For decades, my self-worth was tied to a busy schedule and the roles I played for others. Now, I am discovering who I am in quiet moments, on blank pages, and trying to embrace the idea that simply being is just as valuable as doing.
I’m excited to start this journey and share thoughts on mindfulness, discovery, and the beauty in everyday life. I know I’m not alone on this path. I look forward to hearing from readers who see themselves in this description and will share their experiences here as well. Thank you for being part of something new.
